Imagining cups
Posted by: | CommentsAhhh, the date draws nearer, we are working working working flat out on this competition now. It has taken over my life entirely. I think it’s the same for Cristina and Vlad. But it’s great fun and I love being this busy.
The event will have a large article in the Irish Times this Friday 28-March about Imagine cup 2008, by Karlin Lillington, so look out for team parkIT (from I.T. Sligo) in the press release. Karlin will also write an article in the Irish times the week before the finals on the 03-April and the week after the finals on the 17-April : so lots of press exposure on the way and hopefully some TV3 and RTE exposure also, if plans work out…
Now if only I could get some sleep . . . .
A lot done, more to do
Posted by: | Commentshmmm, where did I hear that before? Our Imagine Cup project is now well underway and I guess you could describe the teams psyche and headspaces as a bit of a building site right now. We are all flat out working on this project and also trying to juggle 4th year honours degree studies into the bargain. But it’s a joy, we are all having fun and looking forward to the finals.
The finals are in Dublin (Microsoft EPDC 2, Leopardstown) on 10th April. Liam met with us a few days ago and ran through the format.
We travel to Dublin on the 9th, get set up and practice during that afternoon. That night we go greyhound racing together with the judges and the other finalist teams. That’s going to be a great night. A wonderful opportunity to catch up with everyone and meet the judges. I already know two or three of them. I believe Caroline Philips and Vincent Vergonjeanne are judging, both of whom I know from Barcelona.
So it’s full steam ahead. By my reckoning, we have about 3 and a half weeks to get our act together.
